Traitors and Patriots

Here is quote from Thomas Paine.

"My country is the world, and my religion is to do good."

If this quote was unattributed, and given to your average Fox News/Tea Party enthusiast, you would probably see an attempt to discredit, denounce, or dismiss it as the likely statement of some obviously wimpy liberal do-gooder. But how would such folks respond after hearing that it comes from a patriot of the American Revolution with impeccable credentials?

Let the squirming begin, I suspect.

And speaking of squirming...did you happen to hear Sarah Palin this week making a feeble case that the U.S.A. should be considered a "Christian Nation"? Is not the U.S. Constitution very clear about the importance of the separation of Church and State? How come the talking heads at FOX were not on her like flies on stink for being a threat to our country with this traitorous disregard of our sacred Constitution?

Hmmm...I wonder.
